Code of Ethics
The following code of ethics represents the guiding principles for a Public Benefit Corporation’s Commission and Board Members. Lotus Tribe is committed to the highest standards of conduct by and among elected and appointed officials in the performance of their duties. This Code of Ethics seeks to insure that promoting common good for all is the hallmark of our organizations decision making process and the development of it’s many programs and services offered to the public.
- Respect and protect privileged and confidential information at all times.
- Welcome divergent points of view and involve citizens in the important decision making policies and procedures.
- Maintain respectful attitudes towards other members of the board and committee’s, staff and other employees and colleagues.
- Avoid outside interests that conflict with maintaining objectives as defined.
- Respond to the public in clear and easy to comprehend ways, especially at
times where the public’s concerns may need a proper response.
- Recognize and support the public’s rights to know the public corporation’s business and financial matters.
- Promote decisions that serve the public interest while promoting the greatest public good.
- Be a good listener, consider all other opinions and diverse point of views, even if those views are conflicting, it is necessary to maintain an open mind that considers cultural and generational differences and opinions.
