giving garden

Executive Summery

Working in harmony with the natural ecosystems based on a common set of principles that encourage a mindful way of living, and, in sharing earth's resources, this program's mission is to facilitate a global model for peace-building and life-long awareness by connecting to nature and through hands-on ecological learning. The implementation of a practical design and a simple creative structure that is inexpensive and low-cost will assist in promoting productive soil and edible garden areas within neighborhoods lacking the needed resources, education opportunities and economic vitality to initiate and sustain a garden as such. The high-lighted purpose of the "Giving Garden" is to model and implement small green community gardens in remote dense areas and within intercity neighborhoods-as a beacon of hope in achieving prosperity and peace. The crops tended and sowed into the land, will be taken care of, and harvested by the community children and residents who will initiate and contribute to the life of each garden. Children and youth will be able to identify plants and their respective intellect function on earth, and they will understand that plants and human species have similar needs for survival and productivity. There will be a peace pole in every Giving Garden that is established throughout the international community and this will be organized through various methods and leadership of our Green Team Committee members.

Some of the project's long-term goals, summarized:

We did it! Thanks to 3 hard working volunteers who donated their time and money to set up the garden, the community and resident children and the families of Creekside Apartment now have an organic garden that will bring food to their table(s). More importantly, it is apparent that these children have learned valuable lessons impacting them in positive ways.
No longer do I find litter at my business store-front.
